Orion™ Explained
Modelling
Orion is based on a physical model. This facilitates the automatic generation of downstream analysis, design and detailing information.
Models can be generated directly using a host of intuitive commands. Alternatively, DXF drawing references can be imported directly from CAD to assist model creation.
- Flexible graphical environment with easy 2D graphical input for model generation.
- Create and work with beams, columns and slabs handled as objects not analytical elements.
- DXF import for automatic creation of columns
- Option to import architects' layout from AutoCADTM. The architectural drawing can be "traced over" to generate the Orion Model.
- 3D rendered visualisation with fly-through animation for checking and also impressive client presentations.
- Orion supports friendly cut, copy, paste and mirroring functions to speed up repetitive operations.
- Beams can be input without the need for a grid
- DXF import for automatic creation of columns
- Axes can now wrap corners providing design and detailing for curved building facades
- Transfer beams, including walls on transfer beams.
- Columns can be supported at any level.
- Rigid links - automatic connectivity of beam and columns at eccentric intersections.
