BREVe3 Technical Support
System requirements
BREVe3 requires Microsoft 32-bit Windows XP or Vista. Administrator status is required to install and register but once this is done, BREVe3 will work for all Users.
BREVe3 should always be installed from the distributed install package so that the essential ActiveX components are properly registered with the Windows system, the databases are initialized for use and the access permissions are properly set.
Install package includes Windows-compliant Uninstall for full removal and complies with the Microsoft requirements of XP and Vista systems.
BREVe3 requires registration if purchased for use on a single PC and this is non-transferable. The licence expires annually, or when the OS databases have been accessed 1000 times, whichever is the sooner.
"BREVe-enabled Applications", developed by developers holding a Development and Distribution licence are registered separately from the BREVe3 Application, and have their own unique access counters.
Access levels
BREVe3 is available with two levels of data support:
- Semi-automatic Using BRE ground roughness and safe site wind speed databases (no OS data), requiring manual input of topography information.
- Fully-automatic Using BRE ground roughness and base wind speed databases, Ordnance Survey altitude and slope databases at 1km resolution.
BREVe3 uses the fully-automatic mode when the registered licence is current, but reverts to the semi-automatic mode when the licence expires. The semi-automatic mode also applies in the 7-day free trial period.
