The use of models created in CSC's 3D+ package, has enabled us to develop our design to a level beyond that which conventional 2D drawings permit. It has enabled us to co-ordinate with the Architect and was used as a live design tool at meetings with the Architect. This enabled us to resolve problems with complicated roof geometry giving all involved increased confidence that the correct design solution had been obtained. The model has also been used in presentations to the client to represent the shape and form of the building.

We now use 3D+ as our preferred method for structural modelling, as it is easy to use and flexible enough to cater for both steelwork and concrete. We have particularly benefited from the parametrics available in 3D+, as designs often change with reduced time frames to modify the drawings. We now produce structural models quicker than it would take to produce 2D drawings
